AW OPEN HOUSE
The Actors Workshop Nottingham is opening its doors to welcome the public for a 12-hour bonanza of live entertainment by some of the finest talent in Nottingham!
The event takes place on Sunday 8th December 2024 – 11am until 11pm at Fishergate Point, Nottingham NG1 1GD where our newly installed bar will be open all day. But please note, due to some of the adult content being performed on the day, this is strictly an over 18’s event.
Audiences can expect a full day of free, live and interactive theatrical events as well as the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular new feature film, due to hit the big screens next year!
Some of the scheduled performances include an adult pantomime, talent showcases, monologue jams, comedy improv, a pub quiz with difference, pop-up theatre, live music and a preview test screening of our brand new feature film ‘Surrender to It’, featuring an all workshop cast, who will be attending on the day for a post show Q&A.
Sounds epic right? Well if that wasn’t enough, there’s also an insightful panel with BBC Show Trial star Michael Socha, The Couple Next Door actor Joel Morris and (Actor’s Workshop alumni) Director Bjorn Franklin & Johnny Marchetta who have just completed their own exciting film ‘Salvable’ (starring Shia LaBeouf).
So why don’t you take a break from the Christmas shopping and feast your eyes and ears on an entirely free festive fiesta! And if you can, please spread some Christmas cheer by donating any spare change to our local homeless charity Emmanuel House.

11:30 SHOW Adult Panto #1 Throbbin' Wood
As part of The Actors Workshop Open House 2024, we present the hilarious and risque panto 'Throbbin Wood & His Merry Men'. Please note this is an adult's only event as it's very naughty!
During the Open Day we are holding 3 separate performances of Throbbin Wood, each featuring a different cast made up from our 3 groups which take place during our regular weekly classes. This performance features members from the Tuesday 8-10pm group.
Prior to the show there will be some warm up activities and improv games. Expect plenty of audience participation!
SYNOPSIS
The fine folk of Got-wood Forest are terrorised by taxes imposed by the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham who'll stop at nothing to seize the throne of England and do the dirty with Maid Marian. Only the outlaw Throbbin Wood, Triar F**k and the Horny Men can save the day. With the help of the hapless Silly Willy, his mother Nanny Fanny and two magical Fairies, can Got-wood be saved from the Sheriff? Or will they be left all a-quiver? Find out in the mucky, merry old adult pantomime that's right on target!

An exclusive test screening of The Actors Workshop Nottingham's most ambitious project to date. ‘Surrender to It’ is a feature length mystery / drama that tells the story of a grieving father and the chaos that ensues when he reunites with his old actor friends on a mysterious weekend in the UK's wild west.
The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the films cast hosted by director Tim Bryn Smith.
